Finally done with being a telephone surveyor for 4 days(initially it was set to be 6 days!). Experience gotten, I'm done. Not something I would want to do again. Can't imagine how telemarketers work everyday. -_- I'd rather station somewhere and interview people vis a vis!

Anyhow, school timetable has been confirmed!
I'm not taking French 2 anymore due to bad timings. :( Oh well. & I went for my first lesson @ JCS language school already. Not too bad I supposed, just that their pace is different from IKOMA's, so I guess it'll be more slack for me. :) It's good in a way since I REALLY NEED TO REVISE.
First lesson and I had 2 dictations!!! (I haven't written a single japanese character in 6 months fyi!)

Okay I'm gonna go back to my readings!!!
Need to buck up already, holiday mood has set in for way toooooo long. Just did my comms quiz and gotten 14/15. So annoying, shall attempt it again! Going chinatown with XQ, K & Laurence later!!! <3

今年的龙年有点特别，第一次到牛车水跟朋友们一起倒数！
是在雨中跟朋友们一起挤在一把伞下倒数的。
看了鞭炮，和一丝丝的烟花，闻了呛死人的烟雾。。。

跟往年一样，初一初二就跟爸比妈咪一起过。
初一在家玩牌，初二到TopOne KTV唱歌去！
好想回上海过：（
看来到等到大学毕业后才有机会吧。

。。。但至少爸妈给我包了个大红包！：）
但以我的开销来算，这些还真不够。＞＿＜

说到龙年，是我外公外婆的本命年！
他们今年７２岁了。

爷爷今年也要过８０大寿了！

School has started for a week!
I would say so far so good, just that I felt pretty intimidated initially by the major prescribed electives that I signed up for(psycholinguistics & cognitive linguistics)! 3h of chim-ness and I went home to drop them 1 day after the other. Now I know why we should clear the cores first!!!

I was in a dilemma whether to clear all my cores first(like what most of my friends are doing) or just go with what I had in mind for quite some time(since sem 1 I think)! And till now(I've got another week to decide this), I'm not going with the flow! Decided to take what I was dying to take - (1)comms studies and (2) french level 2 because (1) is the prerequisite to almost all other comms mods while (2) is a language right, so I cannot just stop for 6 months and let all my previous efforts go to waste!!!

In 2011,

I started drinking and clubbing, to discover that I am quite a good drinker and such a party animal.
I started paying adult fare for transport, and it stinks. (even though I have concession now, it's still as expensive!!!
I registered for driving lessons, and spent the entire trying to get my license but failed. It has to continue this year... OMG I SHOULD STOP PROCRASTINATING!!! I'm only wasting my own money. :(
I started working for Lancome as a beauty advisor, and I love this title. HAHA. I love this job though it gets competitive and ugly sometimes. I met really nice people too. :) & at the end of this month, I can officially say that I've worked in this beauty line for a year. Whoa.
I started giving tuition. I had a total of 7 students, with a record of teaching 5 students individually at the same period of time. It was crazy, I wonder where I got all the time in the world from.
I earned my first 4-digits salary, with my highest hitting a SGD$2000! I'm not sure if the total amount of sum I earned the entire 2011 has hit SGD$10000, but I guess I'm more or less near. :D
I spent a bomb on learning 'lessons' in fields I'm not familiar with and I know I'll never go close to them again.
A close friend went missing. And up till now, I'm still frustrated.
I explored my hometown(way to go!) and gotten the chance to build a strong bond with my cousin.
I went to Seoul with ahchoo. My first trip to somewhere so far with a friend and the entire expenses was paid by myself. :) Not to mention, we had language barrier in this country but it was all so good!
I witnessed the phenomenon of SNOWING. ^.^
I had a white Christmas!
I upgraded my camera to Sony Nex-3 and I'm loving it.
I almost lost my passport and it's the scariest thing ever.
I had my annual great fall.
I bought my first luxury good with my own money: Kate Spade wallet.
My make up stash looks pretty crazy and I guess I'm getting more vain.
I realised I'm quite insecure about my naked face. I hate pimples and pores. Who doesn't?
I entered the big U. & I love it! I am so lucky to meet awesome people like XQ, K & L, I can't imagine university life without them now!
I discovered my love for cooking my own favourite food. MORE TO COME! Till my oven gets fixed!
I am always inspired. I learnt to cherish life better, because I am so fortunate. :)
Love got me down in 2009 real bad, I was on the route of recovery in 2010, and hence was 2011 was loveless BUT AWESOME. Being single isn't that bad after all, and I learnt a lot. I mean, I was in a relationship from 2005-2009, and barely a break in between. I thought I had it all, but I was wrong. It definitely made me stronger, and I finally am doing things for myself, for my own future that I want. I won't avoid love if it comes, but I guess I had set some standards that are pretty hard to achieve. But good guys are worth the wait too, right? :)
I started learning French. Bonjour!
I had Japanese lessons at Ikoma for a good 6 months and got my JLPT N5 certificate!!!
I dyed my hair 3 times and permed it. It's in such a damaged state right now I can't wait to chop the ends off soon!
I DIDN'T LOSE MY PHONE.

This is a brief summary of what I can recall about my 2011. And all in all, I loved it. :)
I don't really have a list of new year resolutions, but I do have a lot of aims in mind!
May my 2012 be even better and more fulfilling! A good year awaits! ^^

Hi Singapore, I'm back, and feeling so lethargic.
Missing Seoul already, all the good food and the cold weather and the cheap cosmetics(ah, my favourites!)
Spent the past 2 days recharging myself but to no avail, I seriously think I spent all my energy over there!
And in the blink of an eye, it's the last day of 2011 tomorrow.
Thinking about it, at the end of every year, we'll say things like, "ah! the year passed so fast!"
But really, be it passing by fast or slow, we gotta see what we've accomplished this year and make the next even better!

& just now, I explored some stuff and read some words,
there has been some misunderstandings that I guess we'll have to bring it to the next year.
Oh well.

Everything has been awesome, I love it here just like how I love Japan, although Japan is still my all-time favourite! (btw, chances are most people here can speak Japanese than Chinese or English!)

Joie de vivre!

Yesterday, I cooked my first ever baked rice! :D

Well, I wanted to start easy(since I already have an oven bought months ago 'cos of my sudden determination to start baking but only lasted for a few weeks :\) and so I found a simple recipe for nutella peanut butter cakes! Just when I thought I had all the ingredients, I realised I didn't have the tools. -__- Daddy then suggested cooking some main course since it was near dinner time, so TADA! Got this recipe online too(and improvised a bit) and it turned out great! YUM.

Oh worse, when I was done cooking and was only left with the oven part, my oven short-circuited(I think I just compounded another word ;p)!!! SO ANNOYING. Thank god for my tiny oven(not supposed to use for baking), so again, I improvised by using it and it still worked! Alors, it's still good! Bon appetit! ^^

Okay, gotta prepare to head out soon to meet C & J! It's been sooooooo long. Tata!

Hi world, I lost my passport early yesterday morning and after an arduous battleship with my own emotions for about 11hours, it is back in safe hands.

For the first time, I resort to praying & hoping for a miracle to happen. & it did.

Thank God, or whoever's up there listening to my prayers. Thank you. My life's a drama with myself. Oh well! If there was a competition on experiences of losing things, I can be Queen.

Ohai, let's celebrate December today! In another 31 days, we can say hello to 2012 already! ;)

Exams are overrrrrrrrrr and I have regain my absolute freedom for just this month! Precious much ;) Can't wait to immerse myself in the Christmas season in Seoul, it's a first! Have been celebrating past Christmases all in Singapore for as long as I can remember(other than primary school days I guess) so it's time for a change! ^^ And this trip is really meaningful 'cos it's the first overseas trip I'm paying entirely using my own income! Such a great satisfaction & achievement on my part I swear ;) It feels good tho it burnt a ginormous hole in my bank account. :O The first trip was KL last year but I paid using money I got from my uncle & aunt for going-to-the-university hahaha. So I shan't count that!

Anyhow, I've yet to book my driving test and I'm getting a lil paranoid. :( I haven't been going for lessons for such a long time and I'm so afraid I'm gonna dump away my $$$ again. Oh well, gotta get down to it quickly so that I can get on the roads already! Hopefully all goes well! (crossed fingers!)

Sat for my first paper today -- HG1002! I would say it's pretty manageable and I'm thankful for that! So glad it's one paper down and 3 left to go!!! French later du soir et HG1001 demain! (Sorry for the random codeswitching, gotta practice!)

Language learning is a bottomless pit, it's like never ending and I'm still at the very beginning of this journey in apprendre(to learn in French) it! I'm still enjoying this moment when everything is still quite manageable ALTHOUGH compared to Japanese, le français est très difficile!!! D'accord, je veux dormir! Bonne nuit! :)

Well as my close friends know, I have a hugeee dream of being a successful entrepreneur in time to come! In recent months, I've been thinking about ideas on and off, and due to the lack of expertise and capital, I couldn't carry out what I want to do immediately. (I know there are various ways of getting money in a short period of time, but I'd rather earn $ through ways that I deem to be more meaningful and closer to my interests. I don't work for the sake of money only! But of course you gotta strike a balance somewhere in between!)

However, it seems like a blessing in disguise! Ideas come after ideas and now, another brilliant idea struck me! ^.^

Can't wait for mummy to come home and talk to her about it! Hopefully 1 of my ideas will be realised with my five-years plan! :D がんばってね～　笑

Oh my god I really can't wait for exams to be over! It's not that my modules are so stressful and I'm so tired, just the fact that I can smell some freedom for a month again is very enticing!

I was still telling ahchoo yesterday when we were heading to collect my passport about my choices of modules in university. There are some people out there who source for the easiest modules available to bring up their GPA, and I really beg to differ! University is NOT AT ALL cheap in Singapore(even after tuition grant), if you were to exclude USA & UK. So, why not make use of the opportunity to learn things you are INTERESTED in and probably would not get a chance to(or worse, still have to pay) outside of university? I know, of course there are some that you know that will kill your GPA so much that it lowers your chance of going for a desired exchange programme and that's where you make a balance. But I'm sure GPA is not the only factor that they take into consideration for such things right?

And I guess I'm the only one who complains that the number of AUs that I have to complete is a tad bit little. I only have 126. & I want to study so much stuff! :( I guess it's the exams that kills. Ah, okay. Enough of ranting & back to studying French!

I can't seem to sense that urgency. Even though my papers are in 4 days! -_-

IT'S FINALLY NOVEMBER!

Time passes too fast before I could catch a proper breath! Oh well, my life is #foreverhectic, never letting myself rest even if I could. -_- So, the most hectic week of the semester has finally come to an end! All the heavy assignments & research papers & french oral are finally o.v.e.r! The next big thing? FINAL EXAMS. Oh crap, 3 months of school just passed like that! At the rate this is going, uni life definitely is going to zooooooooom past!

And yes, I'm turning old tomorrow! Right now I'm just trying to savour my last few hours of being an 18! It was awesome, I haven't felt so liberated ever in my life before. I get to do literally whatever I want(because I earned them myself), nevertheless, I'm so glad for supportive parents. :)

I had a checklist of what I wanted to achieve while I'm 18. Although it's such a regret that I don't get to check them all, but I guess that's what life is all about! We set our targets high enough(realistic at least), and leaving a few unchecked and we move on, telling ourselves to do better the next year! :)

Also, although certain things turn out the way it wasn't supposed to be, I guess I just got to concede to the fact that things happen for a reason. Le sigh.

It's okay! I'm a contented girl(not entirely, I always want more). Have had 2 birthday celebrations so far, and I'm so thankful for the people I have with me.

The first came as a total surprise from my university course mates! It was a loooooong day till 7pm and I thought we were just going for a normal dinner... until Laurence suddenly showed up @ Pepper Lunch(JP) while we were halfway through our dinner. & I could still think she just happened to be there(she stays nearby) until they said "Happy birthday!" It was so sweet, and I'm so thankful for these friends :) --considering the fact that I didn't go for an orientation plus I have no official CCA other than the Deli Apprecio Club(we don't mingle around, we just eat with our own friends!)

Just had my 2nd round today with my 13th century dutch ladies(ahhui, wee ahpoh & doreen)! I create the label for them myself 'cos ALL 3 OF THEM ARE DISCONNECTED FROM THE SOCIAL MEDIA. Okay recently doreen miraculously created a facebook account and I got the shock of my life. Anyhow, she's still very conserved about that with all the stringent privacy settings. On the other hand, we have ahhui who still doesn't have a facebook profile picture despite having hundreds of tagged photos. -____- (I guess that's how bestfriends complement each other, we're the direct opposites, in every way I can think of.) So it was Japanese cuisine + cake, macarons & ice-cream for desserts! Ahhui exclaimed that I ate too much, she didn't say this before, so I guess I really did. (that explains my face becoming rounder than ever and I guess I just gained another kg or 2. AHHH)

K I KNOW I'M GONNA HAVE CAKES COMING SO I BETTER GO LOSE SOME FATS NOW.

翻阅着我早前买的Style：杂志（新加坡版），前几面都是些著名国际品牌的广告。光是欣赏模特儿的姿态，就让人沉浸在它“艺术”气息里面。写这篇文章的出发点其实跟这些广告没什么关系，只是有些突发奇想。

之前跟我朋友在逛商场，对一双金色Tod's的平底鞋一见钟情。看了看价格，“S$570”，伤心地踏出店面。太爱了！做了近10个月的工，我不是付不起，只是太舍不得了。我宁愿花这笔钱，买个机票，再往多一个国家跑。（爸在吃饭时提到我姐现在因做公关所以人在巴黎，叫我不要拼命地存钱就为了出国，说什么以后只要找到像这样的工作，机会多的是。我只回他一句，“青春不留白啊”。）今天，因为看了杂志，看到Anne Hathaway帮Tod's打的广告（太好看了吧），闲着之余，我上了它的网站。一看，有点被吓了一秒钟。它叫你选你的国家，下面列出来的就只有“意大利，美国和。。。中国”。什么时候西方国家把中国放在眼里了？就是现在。

昨天，我爸知道我要去韩国所以给我看了一篇早报上的文章：首尔商场迎来中国游客高潮。不读还真不知道中国人多会消费！首尔把中国人当摇钱树了，而碰巧现在又是中国国庆假日。中国人在那的平均消费高达262万韩元，每人平均逗留4.7天。够夸张了吧？

（刚吃完饭，等等，让我喝杯梅酒载继续。）

所以，我其实想表达的就如我标题所写的。在国外长大的我，有时会感到一点点自豪。但。。。你知道的。最令我嫌着的，就是到哪里都要办签证！！！气死我了，为了去短短9天的首尔就害我白跑韩国大使馆两趟，就因我出生证都是华文字。还得跑到中国大使馆去请他们帮我翻译一下。-_-

太久没打这么多华文字了，感觉有些生疏、怪怪的。语法有错误的话就别太在意了。；）

This is me, during January this year.

10 months & the hair's transition made me look so mature suddenly. Okay maybe not suddenly, but gradually! XQ says I look better with long fringe, and K says I looked very young with my rebonded short fringe and straight hair after looking through almost all my photos from May till now! Major transition!

Still contemplating whether I should snap my fringe since I don't get good fringe days all the time unlike how I used it have it almost everyday. The manes gets more stubborn as they grow longer!

Or should I just grow them out and try having NO FRINGE?

It's recess week now! :)
Although it's not much of a difference as mentioned by XiaoQing 'cos we(Linguistics students) don't have mid terms to mug for. But we do have assignments due here and there ok! hahaha

So today was a day spent with my uni peeps and it was awesome! :)
Went Fassler(a seafood company that specialises in manufacturing salmon) for a tour, and checked out the few factory outlets around that area which included Secret Recipe(they're selling their cakes @ 2 for $52 till this Sat!), Bee Cheng Hiang where I bought a slice, Boon Tong Kee the famous chicken rice store though they only sold some ingredients there.
After which was Cold Stone creamery! Tried the Strawberry blonde which was pretty good and bumped into mediacorp actor Zhang Yao Dong. lol nothing's exciting when you meet local artistes actually.

Caught Johnny English with Karen and IT IS A MUST WATCH FOR A GOOD LAUGH!!! (Y)
Totally LMAO ROFL!

Met XQ @ Raffles Place and we had BARCOOK BAKERY'S RAISIN CUSTARD BUN! IT'S THE BOMB I TELL YOU, IT'S WAY TOOOOOOO YUMMY!!!
I'm dying for more!
and we turned rounds and rounds in the CBD buildings and couldn't find the Gelato outlet that XQ claims to be damn good. :(
Finally, Laurence & JaeYing joined us and off we went to Lau Pa Sat!
One whole table of yummy food: Satay, Pineapple rice, BBQ Stingray, Hokkien Mee, Fried Oysters + Egg & Flour(omg I forgot what it's called) & Sugarcane juice!
Damnnnnnnn good!
& Timbre(pronounced Tum-bre with the throat sound in French) to end the night on a good note. ;) Btw it means crazy(as in high) in French. ;)

The unprecedented hangover!

On 911, I experienced my inaugural hangover HAHA. Oh well, but I didn't got drunk. Hangover was caused by the different kinds of alcohol I drank one after another; from cocktail @ timbre to hard liquors to shots to beers @ tantric to moreeeee beer @ play. Madness I know, swear I wouldn't want to experience this all over again! Too overwhelming. Thank god for zhai to be around, and witnessed my first fall of the year. :(

On a separate note, it was S.H.E's 10th anniversary yesterday on 911 too. It was such a bittersweet day. They finally came together and filmed a video for us(fans)! Spent my hangover hours getting touched and cried here and there. I've literally grown up with them. 她们从少女唱到熟女，而我从刚发育的女孩听到发育快完毕的青年。她们的歌陪我走过人生许多重要的关卡; 从小学到中学到高中，现在都读大学了! 她们就是跟其他偶像歌手不同，她们教会我朋友之间的包容，教会我坚强，教会我要爱家人，珍惜现在因为生命好脆弱。。。我会继续爱下去，因为爱有三温暖。:')

Not cos of the fashion collection, but for the food! Yes, it's the Mid-Autumn Festival that's coming up! I love mooncakes like crazy, like really really crazy that I might really get diabetes in years to come 'cos of over-consumption of mooncakes(touch the branches of amazon rainforest). I think my sugar level intake from mooncakes makes up a good 70% of my annual sugar consumption. :b

So as usual I'll bug my parents to buy much earlier and tada! They got me some from the Four Seasons Hotel which they found to be the least sweet. -_- oh daddy!

P/S spent the early afternoon reading Biz Law text, it's quite dry but interesting! I like :)

Headed back to Commonwealth on thurs with Miss Doreen Tan. All her students went shouting "MISS TANNNNNN MISS TANNNNNN". Hahahaha so cute.

Bumped into Mrs Yeo at the school gate and had a short catch up. Too bad Mrs Philip left already. :( she was the BEST math teacher I've ever had. Be it of professionalism or concern received by her students, they had the best of both worlds. <3

Anyhow, we popped into the band room and took a peep, had a small conversation with one of the sec 2 cornet, or rather, trumpet juniors. She's yiqian's direct junior, and when yiqian was sec 1, I was sec 4 already. Felt so old. :( but the aura I felt inside the band room was still the same. Everyone was like family. & just happened to see huiling borrowing instrument home to practice. Aww. :')

Now I miss my juniors so.

Staying on stage.

After being on stage for exactly a decade(4 years of Choir & 6 years of Band), I thought I was finally stepping down. And then, I went for Epiphany; English & Drama Society's welcome tea just now. & guess what? I think I really like theatre. :) Can't wait to be exposed to so many things in this area. Never did 'theatre' this word ever crossed my mind, and I thought this would be a good opportunity to be in a fresh environment. Yay :D

So hello the stage, I guess I'm still not leaving you yet. :)

P/S I'm also going for Modern Jazz audition this coming thursday. Goodness me. Can't wait actually! :)

Second week of school and I'm so elated!
Seriously, I can't remember the last time I was so eager about school. Probably secondary school, but for the wrong reasons. ；b

So what can I say? I'm so glad I'm studying the subjects I truly enjoy and they're not being forced upon me, or say, not just 'cos they give me more opportunities to different courses in the next institution. Because you know what? I'M IN UNIVERSITY ALREADY! W h o a.

No more much-hated sciences, no more uncommitted self in CCA, no more freaking school rules which doesn't allow untucked(if there is such a word. the linguist-to-be shall find out soon. hahahaha) shirts, short skirts, long fringes and side bangs, colourful socks and big ear studs. I love the freedom to choose my electives, the freedom of dressing, freedom of appearance, freedom to decide almost everything with full support from my lovely parents. What more can I ask for?

I had my first French lesson today and it went great! Learnt pronounciation of ABCs today and simple introduction. My teacher teaches in all 3 government funded universities and has a happy family.(random fact) There's a handsome dude in class but that's not the point. Point is, I am doing so good I actually can't believe it. Thinking last year at this moment I was struggling over all unrevised work cos prelims STARTED TODAY. Life sucked balls and now it's the exact opposite. YAY.

I'm living the moment, and not forgetting that this moment, is for the future I desire. :')

Identity Crisis

わたしはチュゴク人です。でも、シンガポールで15年ぐらい住んでいます。わたしのたくさん友達シンガポール人です。でも、わたしの家族上海住んでいます。

It's quite frustrating sometimes to be at a position where you feel you don't belong exactly anywhere. It's like in Singapore, people know I'm from Shanghai. On the other hand, when I go back, they see me as a Chinese who knows nothing about China. They don't mean anything, but it just occurs naturally to them that when they see me, they gotta speak Chinese instead of our dialect, Shanghainese. It's not that I don't understand, just that I suck at speaking it.

And I know most Singaporeans find Chinese annoying in some way or another cos of their bad cultural habits. But I would say, not all Chinese are like that. Still, who's there to believe when that's not what they witnessed?

Yes, sometimes I do admit that I'm embarrassed by my own countrymen because of certain things they do. All the fake goods to fake FOOD and fake Apple shop in recent years. But China is so enormous, the government can't possibly oversee everything that's going on, unlike tiny Singapore. We gotta think it that way to be objective, isn't it? Again, who's there to care about being objective when our greatest talent here to is complain?

Can I just be an international citizen? I have a crush for Japan too. & my home country wouldn't approve. Shouldn't someone somewhere create a new passport already?

P/S typed this post out using my cell. You can imagine how bored I am at work. Hahaha.

皆さん、おはよ～
明日大學に入る！私はとても興奮していますよ。

So, my 8 months holiday(I guess it would be the longest one in my entire life with no responsibility and everything) officially ends today. But I'm pretty anxious for school to start! Had enough rest, it's time to move on to the next chapter in life. :)

Life has been more than awesome. Others see me as the party girl, but I beg to differ. I know I did give that kind of impression to everyone from my late night partying photos or updating of statuses via the social network about me chillin' somewhere during the unearthly hours, but there's more to that! So I would rather say, I've been leading a really exciting and fulfilling life. :)

I've spent the past 8 months traveling with friends and family on separate occasions to KL twice, Shanghai twice and Tokyo. I have had my childhood dream come true. Diligently attended 5 months of basic Japanese lessons twice a week, never once had it missed! I found a job and I couldn't stop, discovered a workaholic self with bottomless energy. Started with one tuition assignment and boom! I had 5 students for the highest record in 3 months. Dropped 2 of them along the way and now I've got another 2 on my waiting list. Started driving lessons since February and I'm still figuring my way out to getting my license(hopefully next month!) while bestfriend has already gotten hers! Partied like some mad woman, breaking a self record of going sleepless for about 36hours - I went to work and then to partyworld to sing K with SB4 classmates and then went home to bathe, and off to work AGAIN. As crazy as it sounds, my life was still manageable. Daddy & mummy said I was insane, everybody else knows how busy I was. I guess all this would only happen once, and I'm only 18 once. :b And lastly, I took the airplane alone for the first time in my life and I think I'm addicted. I might consider traveling somewhere alone! Ok I'm kidding. I wouldn't dare to sleep in the hotel alone. :(

No one's life will be sweet all the way. As awesome as I had described this pretty long vacation, I had tons of unlucky moments like forgetting to bring my working attire to work after I've reached my work place, 'lost' my phone and found it IN MY OWN BAG 15 days later, FORGOT my driving lesson DATES & TIME and etc. What's YOUJING w/o all these anyway. ;)

So here I go, not exactly moving away from this awesome lifestyle I have, just that I've got to hit the books once again! The only difference is THERE IS OFFICIALLY NO MORE SCIENCES IN MY LIFE AND I AM SO GODDAMN ELATED. Like, WOOHOO! I'm a free bird that kinda thing. hehehe. So, it's a linguist-to-be behind the laptop screen here!

昨天刚独自坐飞机从上海飞回新加坡！超兴奋的~ 突然感觉自己真的长大了。
其实也没什么，因为我爸和我爷爷送我到上海浦东国际机场，我妈又从新加坡樟宜机场接我。。嘿嘿~

还有，我现在也有人人网了!为了跟我妹（表妹）更容易地联系。也顺便帮她下载了whatsapp! 科技发达真好，让我们的距离缩小许多。前天还在舅舅舅妈家帮他们下载了skype, 然后跟我在新加坡的妈咪玩视频，超搞笑！

好了，不多说了！该去亲亲我的床啦~ 满是想念！嘻嘻。一回来新加坡就开始大放纵，又那么迟睡！哈哈哈哈

Spent it by giving tuitions(as usual) till 3pm & it's chillin' time!!!

Went shopping thereafter & bought a tanktop in a few minutes after entering Pull and Bear(1st shop we went)! Walked and walked & bought an Urban Decay eyeshadow primer to save my oily eyelids! (using it now & seems good!) Then went Prada! Time to start saving & hopefully by then they'll have a super pretty pink wallet!!!

2nd stop of sinful indulgence: Canelé's pasta & cake!!! (S had their baked rice & made him really bloated lol)

Wanted to check out Juicy Couture but it was closed the moment we reached. -_-

Cabbed again........ Hate morning shifts lah! I took a big detour from my house to MRT back to my neighbourhood and took a cab. Sigh~

Anyhow, PAY DAY TOMORROW. OMG FINALLY! Opening a new bank account next week for better management of my own finances. :) Gonna open another one too in Shanghai cos interest rate higher and better exchange rate ;)

Vanity goes full blast!

When you know after you shower/bathe, it's not just skincare(face) you're applying and being concerned about, it's more, way more. ^^v

I recently bought a RedKen's Smooth Down Butter Treat for $20 from my colleague.(retailing outside at $50+) 'Cos I told her my hair's becoming a lion's mane since it hasn't been treated well since January 2010 when I last rebonded. So I tried it on Sunday night and hell yeah it's so good!!!!!!!!!! I'm totally impressed cos my hair was SUPER SOFT OMG. Definitely gonna use it diligently for twice a week!

I think I'm a convert. Previously I have been using Essential's treatment(wasn't diligent tho. Oops) and it was fairly okay. Maybe I'll try their butter treat too after my RedKen is used up. I've never felt a need to protect my hair so much but it really seems like there's a need now cos my hair is going beyond cui!!!

Coming to that, I REALLY NEED TO DO MY HAIR ALREADY. Feel like having some big waves at my hair ends! Hahahaha and dye my hair(again omg). More reason to protect my hair! Hello AHCHOO & ATIKA! SALON TIME.

Okay back to topic, so while waiting for my hair to air dry after the butter treat, I put on my strawberry yoghurt mask(for brightening & hydration)! And I did my bedsheets! (I really think I'm a good multi-tasker hahahaha)

I'm using 我的美丽日记 masks! Bought one whole value pack from Watsons the other day cos my strawberry yoghurt masks are finishing. It has their full range inside, so excited to try them all! Okay maybe not the anti-aging, shall give it to mummy. Hahaha :>

Yes, body!

In my entire 18 years of life, I've never thought of going beyond scrubbing my body with shower gel. And thanks to my job, I learnt about body care from my colleagues from other brands. So being curious, I had Clarins Body Shaping Cream and Cellulite Cream(can't remember the exact name) to try! Been trying for a few days and they feel good! Really easy absorption but I'm not sure about the results but that will probably take a few months. May consider buying since there's a good deal for me now :D

Oh yes, one more.

FEET.

Basically from top to toe! I'm using The Body Shop's cooling feet treatment cos I'm a sucker for heels. Ah my blisters on my big toe is so unsightly now. Hahahaha

Added to my collection of vanity: Clinique's Moisture Surge(final step in skincare which locks up all your moisture for you), Clarins' Pearl Cleanser(which can use as a make up remover; best for travelling), Clarins' Whitening Night Cream(oil-free), Clinique's Turnaround(for lightening acne scars).

So there you go! This is when vanity goes full blast!

There's makeup to talk about too! HAHAHA. Okay this is getting a bit long and I need to rest my eyes.

I FOUND MY PHONE IN MY BROWN BAG FROM SAN DIEGO ON 17TH JUNE ON THE WAY TO WORK(on the MRT basically). 'Cos the inner pocket has a hole(I'm aware of this) and it was all the while inside. I digged that a few times but to no avail. I'm just a joke sometimes I can't even stand myself. -_- hahahahaha nevertheless, I'm back to a happy kid now. :D

Feeling really inspired tonight, right at this very moment, that I have the sudden urge to pen down(or rather type out) my thoughts about role models. :)

S.H.E

Yes, they're my idols. Initially, it was just plain idol craze because they could sing and their vocals attracted me. Isn't this how you start to idolize someone?
And slowly, when I started to do my 'research' and get to know more about these 3 girls(or rather women) along the way, they have become my role models.
They aren't those people who were obedient as kids and did everything right, all they did was they chase after their dreams, and did it with passion for 10 years. Yes, their entire youth was spent in front of the camera in the media industry on stage.
But as fans know, these 3 women has set a record in the entire music industry as a girl band.
They are, by far, the only girl band that lasted for 10 years and still counting.
They are the only girl band that did not go separate ways for 10 years.
Although they've gone into different career paths in the music industry now, due to age considerations and unforeseen circumstances(Selina's burnt incident), they are still together as one.
They are so tight as one, calling each other as wives of their own, even their families' members are so close to each other. This is the bond they shared, and I really admire them for being so real, be it in front of the camera or backstage.
They fight together, they protect each other, they share the same dream.

Okay enough said, you know where I'm coming from. :)
& that's the reason why I love them so much, that I literally grew up with them.
People snickered and criticized, some even looked down on Asian idols, but I stood firm on my ground, since 2003. :)
I'm proud of that.

She's the creative director of Gucci.

To be very honest, I wasn't a fan of branded goods when I was much much younger.
Probably 'cos I don't come from a wealthy family, I don't get to even learn about brands.
My life as a kid was very plain, although I know my parents tried their best in giving me the best life I can get. So being raised up in a really thrifty family, being spendthrift was a virtue being passed down the line.
My primary school friends like Jiaxin, May, Joey & Mabel(wow, we were really close back then.) can totally be my judge, especially in terms of fashion.
I don't wear skirts, I was tomboy-ish, and all I have in my wardrobe were a few(probably <5) t-shirts and bermudas. Jiaxin totally couldn't stand me and took me to Far East Plaza when I was primary 5, where I made my very first own purchase of clothes. Oh, that's a pink pure milk t-shirt. ;) Till date, I still have it and wore it even till last year! Oh my.
& that also marks the start of my 'fashion journey'. hahaha sounds pretty funny.

I started to look out for different types of clothes, go for more shopping, and you know it, I became a shopaholic! But the sad thing is, I was still poor. LOL.
So, I started to think t-shirts were uncool and boring, and I started to sort out for unique clothes.
My proudest piece ever -- a black & pink top(2 pieces) from I.P. Zone.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA my goodness.
But seriously, I was so happy with that buy back then in sec 2!

& I still remember those days when I went out to shop with ahchoo, she told me she only wears t-shirts cos t-shirts are the coolest. HAHAHA. :')

Okay I think I digressed. :p
So getting back to topic..
Basically, I know nothing about brands, until secondary 3/4.
I was that slow, and that late. I used to be living in my own world about everything cos seriously, I only know about S.H.E and the chinese music industry. It was only later in secondary school that I start to get in contact with the angmohs music industry mainly thanks to Saiful and Atika. And slowly too, about brands.

But again, because of me being brought up to be thrifty, I thought branded goods were a huge waste of $$$.
Mummy once told me, branded goods are actually normal things, pasted with a brand logo on it and tada! the price becomes tripled, or even quadrapled, you judge.
I stood by this stand for a really long time. I started to criticize those materialistic people, especially kids(basically w/o a source of income), who purchase branded goods at the back of my head.

Until I realise that sentence wasn't wrong, but it isn't all true too.
I must have been too extreme! hahaha
So I started learning about the source of brands, their origins and stories and everything once in awhile.
And I realise, the price we're paying, is for the creativity juices that got squeezed out of designers' heads, which is not easy when these different forms of creativity have to be accepted by the entire market.
I didn't especially hunt Frida Giannini down, but thanks to daddy who read papers diligently and showed me this article about her.
How she changed Gucci and shape the way it is now.
I find this woman really inspiring, and I'd love to work something along this line in future. :)

She is what kept me up tonight typing this post despite feeling sticky(yes I haven't bathe 'cos I just came home from Japanese class not long ago).
Daddy passed me yet another newspaper article about her, saying that she might be a good role model for me.
INDEED!
'cos immediately after I read the article, I was thrilled about what she does and started googling and everything and hence ending up here. ;p
So yes, she's the creative director(again) for Mercury Marketing and Communications and she did a few Singapore Fashion Festivals a few years back and also this year's Audi Fashion Festival!
Totally thrilled by how she realise her dreams, and make me visualize my future even more!

Went for my Linguistics and Multilingual Studies interview @ NTU on Friday. Had to write an one-page essay on 'Do animals have their own language?' within half an hour. I was so shocked yet glad that the interviewer was impressed with my essay, especially the last sentence where I commented that animals language would definitely be free of grammar rules! Hahaha. She even said that I was so good she got nothing to ask me. Wa my face instantly lit up!
But again, gotta wait for confirmation first. (crossing fingers)

So today, I went for my final theory lesson 1.01 & MY FIRST DRIVING LESSON. Like really sit at the driver's seat, learning how the car function etc, and even roughly know how to change tyres! Pretty awesome experience, it feels like 'WHOA I'M DRIVING!!!'

Nothing like go-karting, but I'm so glad I'm quite stable at this. At least I don't feel myself shrieking like I usually do when I'm scared. hahaha.

But on this very same day, YAP PASSED HIS DRIVING TEST. -_-
What the, I just started and he passed already!!
and more friends are all getting their license this/next month. We're all growing up! :)

Madness, I have this particular friend on foursquare who checks in to ion orchard residences everyday. I always thought he was at ion, it was only until yesterday that I realised there's a 'residences' behind.
Being curious, I went to Google the price of an apartment there. Yes that explains my title.
MADNESS.

Then I did my calculations in the middle of the night lying on my bed, half asleep, and ...
I start to wonder if I can even make $8.8million this lifetime(being realistic).

Let's break down and do some math:
Let's say I'm really lucky I can earn 5 digits a month next time say $12k.
My annual income will only be $144k.
I'll take freaking 7 years to earn a million and officially become a millionaire provided I eat bread and butter everyday and don't do any shopping. If not say I'll take 8 years.
Then, thinking about $8million?!
Oh it will take me 64 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

And I think becoming a billionaire would be a totally different story.

Unless I make it big next time. Go Hollywood and do stuff. HAHAHA. Oh keep dreaming and dream hard!

But one thing I'm definite of myself is I'm gonna make a change. Bring my family's social status up one level and live a good life. I will never settle down for a 9-5 job and be happy with it. I'm going all out, and do something big. Watch me! :D

I always get myself inspired when I'm bathing. Maybe that explains why I always take ages to bathe. ;) So yesterday night, I had a hugeeeee inspiration. Really really huge that I wonder if I can ever make it during this life. lol. So we shall seeeee. No don't ask me 'cos I will not tell you YET. ;p

And I've agreed to go for a short 'internship' with daddy to learn about his business and stuff like that. :) Seems interesting, I'm actually quite looking forward to learn lots of stuff! & no stress cos it's daddy! hehehehehe. (wa later he reads this he's gonna nag at me hahaha)

Didn't work today AGAIN.
I've only worked 4 days since April started! & it's day 12 already! Such a slacker, earning lesser and lesser as the months go by. HAHA. but that means I've been playing hard! Yes I really do. hahaha

Today(or rather yesterday) was spent with Zhai, Isaac & Joey. Basically to spend time with Zhai cos he's having this 1 week break from NS since his graduation from BMT. :)
Had Sakae buffet @ Park Mall, watched Rio @ PS and had B&J's free cone @ RC!
We were so lucky to be last in line for B&J's! hahahaha happy :p

All is well and birthdays have been celebrated :)

It's my blog's 6th birthday today!!!
Waseh, http://colour-pinkie-promise.blogspot.com this URL literally followed me for 6 years UNCHANGED! That's how I am when it comes to dealing with memories; I like to leave them untouched, even if things changed along the way. :)
No idea how I thought of this url also, totally random. But a few years back I actually found some meaning to it. Colour pinkie promise is like lighting up a pinkie promise, like making it happen/ fulfilled --> promise kept!
And I'm dedicating the meaning behind this url to myself, to keep reminding me that I've to eventually achieve what I want in life. ^.^

You'll discover how much I've grown/ evolved within these 6 years of my teenage life.

My march schedule! Yes it's so crazy I wonder how I managed too. Driving lessons, Japanese lessons, retail work, 4 groups of tuition & random meetings with friends. But I survived! ;D

AND I HIT 65% ALREADY!! Double commission baby! $227.80 as of now, and still got the remaining hours(yes I'm stoning at the counter now) and tomorrow! Very satisfied! Hopefully next month 100%! :b

Had a super heavy brunch @ Fosters steakhouse this noon with Celestine, Melvin & Wanling to pay a visit to Cheong. Hahaha. Had to take the outdoor seats cos indoor was all packed & reserved. Then all the series of unfortunate events happened!
First we had a really comfortable corner with cushions and accompanied by greeneries, then we had our appetizers and tea/ coffee. Then, BLOW WIND BLOW! The next thing we know when we creep open our eyes was tree dust ALL OVER OUR TABLE! My asparagus cream soup was half finished & tea filled to the brim!
So we moved to the table next to us, while they got our drinks replaced. And halfway, we realized the wind was rather strong so we got scared and decided to change seats again! Hahahaha, then came our main course..........
While we were happily feasting away, (almost halfway done) A HUGE BLACK BUG JUMPED ONTO MY PLATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
God damn it, I literally JUMPED UP FROM MY SEAT & SCREAMED!
And before I could recover from the shock, Melvin grabbed the bug with his fingertips!!! SIAO.
And Cheong saw it and shrieked hahaha!
So they got my main course replaced! Wow shiok enough though. Cos there's salmon, chicken & steak. Just that the steak was below medium rare so I couldn't stand the blood and gave it to Wanling.
Then we had dessert. Yum~ basically their lunch combo is really worth it. :)
Celestine and I then bought beer & cocktail to end it off. 2 for $15 all day long ;)
And while Celestine was busy talking about her work life @ Bird park, Melvin about his band tutoring and Wanling about her income tax customer service, I had to rush to serangoon to work alr. :(

But overall, good day and good catch up! :)
Haven't gone for my break today cos I'm still so full from the brunch! Maybe my favourite bubble tea later ~

Okay and it's HEBE'S BIRTHDAY TODAY!!!!!!!!!

Went to work & saw SK-II 19 yr old girl back with her new born baby & hubby! Omg & she look like she has never been pregnant; her whole body is still so skinny!!! It was just last week when she came back to visit and saying her baby doesn't want to come out lol! Her baby's so adorable~ even though they had a baby on accident hahaha.

Veron's da besttttt! She gave me her sales worth $155 cos I had no customers till 6+pm and she knows I want to hit my 65% badly! She said, "don't say I never dote on you ah!" hahaha aww.

Stupidest thing done so far in my job: Selling a NECK cream to a customer when she wanted a NIGHT cream. (Eyes don't know grow where!!)

Thank god she bought enough to become a member and hence I had her particulars.
BUT THEN AGAIN, she only fill in her address & left NO CONTACT NUMBER/EMAIL. -_-
My goodness, by that time I was panicking like mad & called Veron to ask for help. (but obviously she can't) So the smartass me thought of GOING TO HER HOUSE.
Thank god for GPS, tracked down the way to go her house!!
Thank god again cos she lived NEARBY.
So I ran off to find her house after I knocked off @ 6pm and took back the neck cream & an additional $15 to top up for her night cream.
& I RAN ALL THE WAY BACK TO ISETAN TO GET THE NIGHT CREAM & RAN ALL THE WAY BACK TO HER HOUSE AGAIN.
Wasai and by the time I've finished exercising, 40 MINUTES PASSED ALREADY.
(Jap class was only 10minutes away and it's @ town!!! -_-)

This is the first time I'm afraid of posting anything on Twitter & FB. Because I don't want any questions, because this is the first time in my life that I'm not a bit proud of my hard work. So I ended up here, ranting again because I'm so scared now. Viewed the grades profile of all 3 govt universities, and I think I really need a miracle. I can't stop breaking down, I feel so weak all of a sudden. Daddy kept coming into my room to give me advice and giving me hope, telling me to cling onto the 10% chance where admission criteria are shifted away from grades. But I'm so scared, so so scared. Private universities are so expensive :( What happened to me?

& I still have 3 tuition groups tomorrow.
Can I just tell them to fire me? I don't think I'm in a good position to teach them with my current grades.

MY SIDE BANGS.

I totally don't see why it makes me less need. Not like my hair is flying all over my face. It's my security hair :( yes, I have a very round face. Yes, I'm very vain. & thus my SIDE BANGS are there.

Thought that my hair-being-picked-on days are over forever, and you have to do this to me. No other colleagues have problems with my grooming, neither did any customers complain. Why the big fuss? Relax, you're just scared you'll 'kena' by the big boss if they come down to the counter. If not for my contract w BGC, I'd probably not care about you at all. Just accepted 2 more tuition assignments for next month! I'm gonna be so crazily busy, all for the sake of $$$. But I'm glad I enjoyed my jobs so far, at least it doesn't make me feel like I'm working just cos I want more $$$. The experience has been awesome so far. :)

Enrolled at BBDC with ahhui last friday! Yay so exciting~ & I'm paying for the entire driving course. Feels good to be engaging in self empowerment with my own income :D
Watched 'No Strings Attached' with S & A after that at town, before I chiong-ed for tuition. But my tutee 放飞机！tsktsk

Saturday was tuition, family friends gathering(FINALLY, SOME ANGPAOS!) @ Tiong Bahru Plaza's 老北京, 'Black Swan' with E, J & army boy SY. :D Brought out the Ice Wine but I forgot we need to pull out that long cock(HAHA) before we can drink. AIYA. wasted! Shall wait for SY's next bookout. :D

time optimism

During breakfast when daddy was hurrying me to eat faster, suddenly a random thought came to my mind: why am I so relaxed when I do know time is running out?

Then I realised, I've always been optimistic about time, thinking every minute pass by very slowly. However in actual fact, it does pass by very fast cos of our pace of life.

So why the realisation?

Cos way back long long ago, I was playing at some playground with tangge. My mum was happily chatting with her mum when she suddenly announced, "10 more min!" Tangge became very sad then I told her, "10 min very long de, look at the clock, the second hand moves so slowly, it has to move 60 times before 1 min pass! So altogether it's 600 times!!!" then tangge became happy after listening to my analogy. LOL.

Don't know how I still remember, but it just flashed across my mind! Ok random but you get my drift! ;)

P/s wa I love blogging on the mrt, time passes so fast! Seems like my analogy only works when we were kids hahaha! 2 more stops! :D WORKING AT RAFFLES CITY TODAY! MORE CUSTOMERS PLEASE! ;D

Craziest moment ever!

Worked from 1430 to 2230 yesterday, headed to Clarke quay Starbucks to meet some classmates, took photos, headed for some drinks and a game of daidi, qxq drank double shot of tequila w salt & lime(epic moment), headed to partyworld(FREAKING $34 EACH) from 0100 to 0500, screamed our lungs out, headed to mac for breakfast, reach home at 0700+, removed make up, bathed, apply make up(-.-), left house at 0850, worked from 1000 to 1800 today.

& here I am now trying to keep myself awake on the mrt by typing this post!

Mad mad mad!!! While otw to work, I fell asleep & accidentally hit my head on this auntie's shoulder sitting beside me on the mrt, then she 'tsk' me so loudly! Super embarrassed oops!

Okay i'm so gonna chiong home bathe, dinner & kiss my bed real hard! :D

Been working as a Lancome Beauty Advisor for 2 days already. :)
I love this job. Love the interaction with the customers, always giving me that sense of achievement whenever they asked me for makeup/skincare advices. I feel so professional after gobbling down all those info from the training! (Y)
Also loving the flexibility and how much I could actually slack. Unbelievable? ;)
They plan my monthly schedule according to my wishes. I can sit down, play with all their products and doll myself up in front of the mirror, use my phone whenever I like. I don't have to try to attract customers. All I do is just to offer the best service & advice whenever they come to me. Awesome? Totally! :D

I spent last friday working at Isetan Nex @ Serangoon. Friendly counter manager who taught me everything and helped me in every way she could. So working at Isetan Scotts today was such a breeze. :)

I told mummy that I only aim to get 1 customer to buy products from me on the day before I work. She said aim for 3, so maybe I can hit at least 1. & what I got? 4!!!
The most encouraging thing is they were all so satisfied with my service/advice, they even asked for my name card. Some didn't buy anything but they still wanted my name card so that they would come back to me next time. Aww. :)
Total sales for day 1: $359 (Target sales: $833)
Not bad right?

Today, I aimed to hit 65% of target sales so that I could get double the commission!
So I tried my best pushing the sales and it got closer and closer ...
By 7pm, I had around $500+ of sales.
Target sales for Isetan Scotts: $973
I need around $120 more.
At 8.30pm, came this malay lady with her kids. She purchased 2 lipsticks and she wanted 1 lipgloss! I WAS LITERALLY OVER THE MOON.
That would mean I'll hit 65% already cos all those cost up to $120+!
& while I was checking stock..
THE LIPGLOSS WAS OUT OF STOCK.
AHHHH!!!!!!! WHY SO SWAY!!! T.T I WAS SUPER SAD LAH. >:(
So by 8.45pm, I WAS JUST $30+ AWAY FROM 65%. :(
& from the crowd(cos it's a Sunday night), I was expecting NO customers in the last hour. I was just praying (to whoever) for a miracle.
COS THE CHEAPEST PRODUCT COSTS $40! I JUST NEED 1 MORE PERSON TO BUY 1 THING FROM ME!
So I started cursing under my breath, stoning, texting and just, wanted to gave up.
until..
AT 9.30PM, A LADY CAME UP TO ME TO ASK FOR A FOUNDATION.
I immediately recommended TEINT MIRACLE. (Y) She tested it and she loved it immediately cos the texture was sooooo light! AND YAY.
(FIREWORKS POPPING)
SHE SAVED MY DAY!!!!!!!
At the eleventh hour exactly! cos it was just an hour away from closing.
WHOA.
I WAS ELATED TTM I TELL YOU!!!
Total sales: $667
