Weekends fly by too quickly! Friday just ended and I sense Monday coming already thanks to a jam-packed weekend! Tuition & work on Saturday, Food Seminar(damn expensive, daddy thinks it's worth it so I hope it really is!) on Sunday!

Anyhow, I have a 25% Phonetics quiz on Monday!!!(need to do well -- stress x infinity)

Wore my brown contacts out today and my eyes were so dry since the time I was giving tuition -- it probably was 'cos of the ceiling fan. Spent $6 on a lens eyedrop but to no avail!!! Eyes damn uncomfortable now. :( Okay shall go sleep, gotta study tomorrow! Ciao.

Woke up this morning to 2 good news though 1 of them is not completely good but better than nothing!　：＞

I'm thankful for my group members! General comments about our presentation yesterday(HG2023) mentioned that we were all quite nervous. I think that's particularly me :/ hahaha. Anyhow, I'm glad it's done! Over to the next!

& I think it's time for me to do something about my brows -- it's getting way too messy! #busybusybusy


P/S As you can see I've been updating this space quite regularly(I think the most regular since JC days LOL) 'cos I want to hit my #999 & #1000 post mark next monday -- my blog's 7th birthday! Yes it took my almost 7 donkey years to have that many posts. hahahahaha

ONE MODULE DOWN LES CHIENNES!

HG2023(Language & Gender) IS OUT OF THE WAY FOREVER.
Although I must say I enjoy this module the most this semester, but sadly to say it's so not easy to score for our major prescribed electives. :(

Hw0201 will be cleared next week and HG2003 the week after! CAN'T WAIT.
Meanwhile, the weekends again! Always spells liberation(for awhile). I hope tomorrow works out well! X

A night that spells nostalgia.

It was Limelight for CMB again! I'm not too sure if it was a biannual event 'cos the previous one was 2 years back.

I didn't have plans to go initially 'cos school's been really hectic and I thought it'll be performed by people that I mostly don't recognise anyway. But I'm so glad I went, and thank you Kenneth for the tickets! But he gave me 2 separate seats and intentionally placed my seats beside both my CMB & ACJCSB conductors. THAT was not appreciated. >_> When the former asked what I'm currently doing right now, the latter cut in and said, "Tai tai lor." Wah piang. Thanks ah.

So ahchoo and I were lucky enough 'cos there were empty seats around so we didn't have to split! Yup so there were 2 empty seats between us & the conductors. Hmm. Apart from that, the performance was awesome! It reminded me of our last performance in VCH -- the dancing of the kids. THEY WERE SOOOOOOO CUTE I SWEAR! The gimmicks were good. :) The senior band with alumni was way better than what I'd thought, and seeing sooooooo many familiar faces made me so happy. For a moment, I had wished I was there on stage with them. Oh well, blame myself for not being able to commit. hah. But I really had missed the stage, making music and definitely the company. There's just something about the company of musicians of CMB. Maybe, it's because I was so devoted to this band in the past. Maybe, that was when love started. And it all started from a rusty Bundy Saxophone.

Anyhow, managed to catch up a lil with Joey Teo. Ah, such a sticky junior, but I love her! Can't stop hugging her hahahaha. I promise we'll have another section outing! (Wait till I'm a free bird from school) And grabbed Aloysius for a photo after the concert. Too bad Charlotte was with her boyfriend(I've been so outdated really) and her mum. What a combi! hah.

It was definitely a good night. :)

Slept 8h thereafter and was still very tired to wake up for school. Came back and napped for 1.5h and AM STILL SO GROGGY. Flu is still here to stay and I sense an impending sore throat. SAY WHAT? I have presentation on Thursday. :( Dear body, please be good. I promise to rest more. Urghhh. Okay gotta go start work now! Can't wait for Friday(so that another hell week is over).

I hate Sunday mornings when I have to cab to work. That is obviously because I was going to be late. And the purpose of cabbing is SO THAT I CAN BE ON TIME, OR AT LEAST, THE VERY LEAST, FASTER IF I WERE TO TAKE PUBLIC TRANSPORT.

So I was really pissed off this morning 'cos I left house at 9.45AM(I have to reach by 10AM, if not, 1025AM -- just before Isetan opens). So technically, if I manage to grab a cab within 15minutes, I'll still be fine. But today, I waited for a damn cab for 45MINUTES. You gotta be kidding me, I could have reached via MRT already. FML!!! Not that I didn't try to on-call, I tried freaking 3-4 times, holding the phone like a retard by the roadside until the damn voice over the phone told me THERE IS NO FREAKING TAXI IN MY AREA. SAY WHAAAAAT?!?!?! Yes, so ALL the taxis, and I really mean ALL, were changing shifts/had passengers. KANASAI.


Eventually, my call finally got through and I spent freaking $17. I am so not satisfied with the taxis in Singapore. Urghhhhh. Totally not serving the purpose.


Okay enough of negative emotions. (Release release release...)


Bought new coloured lenses! Splurged another $80 on this, better make full use of them this time. I still have my purple lenses over @ J's crib from NYE. -_- Okay, gotta leave this space and work on my HW0201 ppt slides already. Another hectic week ....... I can't wait for Friday already.

If I had a choice, I'd quit school and attend language class(one at a time) and just keep sketching and creating. Life would be perfect.

Woke up at 9.39AM.

This has got to be the earliest morning I've woken up to sans an alarm clock! I thought I'd sleep like a pig since I'm down with flu but I automatically woke up after 8 hours. Hmm, good start to sleeping early and waking up early? lol.

As usual, couldn't be bothered to get out of my room to brush teeth/wash face -- I am THAT lazy. Hah, tsk. Finally opened my VIVI(HK) mag I bought from Kukup and the indulgence begins! (It was lying on my bedside for one entire week thanks to school, urgh.)

And the next thing I did was on my laptop, hah. How I love the WWW. My Firefox always has >5 tabs opened, if not way more. Well there's 8 right now! Love multitasking, though I would really choose not to. Attention span for each is way less and it kinda sucks. But I have no choice - school email is logged on 24/7 and I have my dropbox opened for editing. The school-related tabs are opened (sometimes for show, to make myself feel better >_>) to constantly remind myself of work work and more work. Okay I'll stop blabbering on with school so annnnnnoying.

Anyhow, I did a quick research on my fashion design teacher. & she really inspired me this early morning! She has created her own brand Chalk and featured in lots of magazines since 2007! I was just scrolling through her journal and there are so much inspirations. I can totally pick up a pencil and do my homework(draw more designs) right now but well I'm typing away hahaha.

Okay I just asked daddy to hand over $40 for my fringe cut. There he goes again, rambling about how women's haircuts are always more expensive than men's but the women don't earn as much(OKAY DADDY don't make me type out a research essay on that - stereotyping once again!). Let's hope I'll get out of the house earlier to allow ample time for the cut or I'll have to go tomorrow. Okay I'm such a lazy ass.

I better go wash up now and do all the necessary... and hopefully I can stop forming all these tissue mountains as I type away. ohdamnit. Cooking ma own lunch today! Urgh so lazy.

I should stop using the word 'lazy' already and maybe... TORPID.

I really have so much to do and so little time to do everything well. This is soooooooo draining I literally feel like dying. I'm way beyond exhaustion and my body has finally collapsed... #notcool
Recordings for phonetics are FINALLY DONE(after doing it wrong the first time and it took much more effort for daddy to pronounce all the plosives in the carrier sentence), HG2023 presentation slides are on it's way(I have much to edit) and HW0201 is lingering over there. Wondering how I'm gonna get past next week with 2 presentations and 1 transcription exercise. The week after with a 25% phonetics quiz and HW0201 report due, and the last school week with phonetics project due and HG2005 presentation. TILL THEN I HAVE NO TIME TO BREATHE.

Anyhow, Kenneth's giving me 2 tickets to Limelight so yay! I'm gonna skip design class and go with ahchoo :) It's okay to take a breather right... Yes.

WEEKENDS BABY!

FINALLY HECTIC WEEK IS OVER. REJOICE!

Surrendered my critique half an hour before 5pm. Really crossing fingers for this 'cos 1. it's 35%(?!?!?!) & 2. I don't even know if my content is there or if it was well structured. I just whacked my way through. >_>

Anyhow, there's again, more stuff to do. But before that happens, allow me to take a tiny break and head over to the small fishing village in JB later for a 2D1N getaway! To be honest, I wasn't keen initially on this because 1. it's like a third world place no? lol. 2. the idea of staying in a motel isn't too appetising. I'm a comfort > anything else person. I don't mind budget but decent comfort is a need!!! But, thinking of a small getaway(leave SG, even if it's just JB) seems better than staying here anyway. Hope the food will be gooooooood. :)

& I've got more reese's in my fridge now thanks to pi day! :D

We're losing time so fast I can't catch up.
Was experiencing some emotional turmoil the whole of Saturday which I couldn't comprehend. #PMSmodeon

I wish I could be more productive and less distracted. It's only during the wee hours like this that I start panicking and then I'll be back to being lazy when I wake up. What a vicious cycle.
Just realised I have a Language and Gender paper that is due this coming Wednesday(30%) and another Critique(35%) due Friday. Scary, no? That was why when ahchoo told me the mid terms for comms was 20% I wasn't so afraid because all my other modules have assignments in humongous weightage. W H Y?!

Anyhow, time to get started with HW0201, HG2003 and HG2005 experiments and presentation preparation for HG2023. Can't wait for April already.

Midnight craze.

Where am I going?

I planned to do so many things after getting back early(yes for once I'm home early from school because I went home straight). But apparently everything failed because I have the Internet. The WWW always get me hooked somewhere, but I guess I was hooked for a particular reason this time. (Okay I'm just giving excuses to forgive myself)

So... I accidentally clicked a person's twitter's profile because the Twitter's new interface suggests us with people whom you may know and would want to follow. She's a primary school mate, and then a junior college mate, and now a university mate. But, we've never been in the same class or whatsoever so we're technically strangers but I know she exists for thaaaat long. There are just so many people who are like that to us right? Curiosity hits me and hence I clicked on her tumblr link, and browsing further I got to her personal blog. (all at a click away, anyway)

Then I realised I've read this blog before, some time years ago. It's her again. She's in the course that I very much wanted but failed to get thanks to my sciences grades. Oh well, let's drop that already. Anyhow, I'm happy with my landing. :) So, she's doing lots of design stuff and probably going into advertising. What prompted me to read further was that she worked in a magazine company during the long break before university started. Ah, my dream(for now, that is). So I was trying to see what she did anyway. And it's really pretty good, she designed lots of posters and stuff for one of my favourite fro-yo stores too!

And so this set me thinking...

Am I doing enough?

I got myself really busy, got myself into things that I love to do - beauty line, language classes, traveling and etc.
And Z just reminded me on Twitter to not give up on my dreams. Yes, I just got them started. But how far can I go? What do I really want? ..........

One is never satisfied. (Note: 'never' is used only accurately when something really did not happen before)
I'm hungry, hungry for more experiences.


I shall go chase after my dreams,
and please welcome me back to reality when I fall.

Back to school: week 8

It felt like the semester has just started not too long ago but in fact it's week 8 already! Probably 'cos we only started getting busy halfway, but all's good nonetheless. :) Results are of satisfactory level currently, hopefully all these upcoming projects and presentations will go well!

Just ended my comms mid terms today - my one & only module with mid terms. hehe. I had the whole recess week to study for 1 paper, but I guess I never learn from past experiences and only chionged to finish READING(note: not entirely absorbing, not to say memorising). Forgotten to complete 1 of the quizzes(oh there goes some of my marks -_-). Oh well, at least there's finals to pull me up! I need at least a B to study other comm modules. >_> GO!

So, my first day of school was one hell of a long day! 0830 to 2115, with 3 two hours break in between. -_- & it's going to remain like that for the next 7 weeks, and by then I would be done for the semester already. :)

& here's why...

A level results.

Forgot to mention it was A's results yesterday!
I was pretty excited to know how my juniors did but seems like they didn't tweet about it(lol I was actually refreshing my twitter quite regularly waiting to see updates but to no avail).

I remember myself being all emotional after results, thinking where the hell can I go with NO As. Okay I only had 1 pathetic A and that's General Paper. I didn't expect that though. Sciences screwed up my life so badly I didn't know where to hide my face. I was almost depressed.

But looking back now, it all seemed so folly. I'm so thankful for all the available opportunities that I didn't know of if I didn't open myself up to more perspectives. Never in my life would I think I'll study linguistics. Before this, I, like many others, didn't know what the hell linguistics is about. Right now, I'm in love, in love with this mysterious field of study. So glad daddy was there to guide me along.

If not of these, I wouldn't be where I am today, living the life so unexpected!
Made awesome university friends, learning cool things, blessed with even more opportunities.
I'm one lucky girl, and I am contented. :)

Slept till almost 1pm today and missed section lunch. Met Cheryl and Janan for a short shopping trip but bought nothing. Because stupid J kept suaning me all the way! tsk so annoying, haven't changed a bit! Anyhow, went to play pool instead. Got owned hahahaha. & C played it for the first time. Headed for Japanese class thereafter and was late again... Ah what's new.

I miss Ikoma! The pace in JCS is really slow and... most people haven't taken N5 in my class. Seriously? I thought I'm in a class preparing for N4. -_- Le sigh! Another year awaits before I can go back to my old love.

Born on 6 November '92 in Shanghai, virgin trip on the airplane at the age of 3 when she moved to Singapore. First language was Shanghainese. Only child thanks to the one child policy back then. Sang in the Choir in Primary School, played the alto saxophone in the military band in Secondary School, then the tenor saxophone in the concert band in Junior College. Currently majoring in Linguistics & Multilingual Studies in NTU. Part time Beauty Advisor for Lancôme Paris. Tutor for Primary & Secondary School students.
