New Year's Eve! #799

It's that time of the year again!
Today is officially the last day of 2009!


In 19hours, it'll be officially 2010!!!
Oh my gooooooodness, by then we'll all pop our champagn sparkling juices and get HIGH! :D YAYYYY!


Any New Year resolutions laid out?
hahaha, I'm too lazy to think so much.

1. Good health for all my loved ones
2. Decent grades throughout my J2 year, and goooood ones for A's!
3. Lose 3kg at least! (I want a 4 in front! :x)
4. Memeks to still meet up as often as possible. C: we can celebrate all our 18th birthdays and be LEGAL. oh my, what's so great about getting legal while preparing for A's? lol.
5. Should start planning for my own future, I guess I have to live for myself.
6. STOP SPENDING SO MUCH $$$. (I guess it's easy since I'll see my notes more often than shopping malls.)
7. C:

I guess I'll have no time to say anything else cos I'll prolly wake up at 1plus again, and I definitey need to start preparing to head out. Wanna doll up nicely to welcome 2010 with all my might. :b

本小姐 was playing with the curling iron and made my hair really curly and volume-d up(is there such a word? lol), I LIKE! but it's gone alr due to the humid weather. Gosh, even when I'm in an airconditioned room! :o

不知不觉，那里还是终点。

Had a sudden urge to go running so...

changed into my turqoise fbt & a t-shirt in the midst of watching GG and TADA!

OFF FOR A MARATHON! :D


I ran all the way along the canal near my neighbourhood, to my primary school(old location), to jurong east swimming complex, to along the road to lakeside, to another canal(beside jessica's condo), to along the road again, to some park, to safra, to pioneer.

And I left house at around 6pm, started running and by the time I reached there, the sky was dark. -_-
Didn't bring my phone out cos it's troublesome, only brought along a towel and $10 cash where I kept inside my shorts(there's a small pocket).
Got myself H2O @ Cheers and cabbed home. -_-
cos I knew my parents would have freaked out as I was uncontactable. Oops. :x
My dad even called saiful cos he saw what he texted me and thought we were running together. lol.


but it was a good experience! :D
spending some time alone, reflecting and coming up with New Year Resolutions. hahaha.
If only I had more time, hmmm.
I guess I really need more of that.

Reflecting ...

One year, so much things has changed.
I just realised how pathetic my blog posts this year are. lol.
Maybe because I've been so occupied that I don't even have the time to sit down to blog about whatever that I had done. But I'll definitely regret it because I know if I ever want to know what I was doing at this time in future, I won't be able to.


& I just realised Ahchoo didn't join us(memeks) last year for Twilight movie not because she was scared of vampire, but because SHE HAD FOOD POISONING.
How I know?
I just read my own archives. LOL.
Do you guys remember? I bet not. hahaha.
I don't know, small little things like this can make me smile to the laptop screen. hahaha. (:


So if you were to pardon me, I'm gonna blog about everything I can remember recently.
So I guess this blog post is gonna be super duper long and you can just skip it if you want. lol.


where should I start from? lol.
Okay let's see, hmmm, okay the busy week that I'm away from home then. (I just read my Dec posts)


So,
Band Camp, 7-9 Dec

It was super draining, my section just died after the first day.
Intense playing of everything, band pieces, concerto grosso(solo saxophone parts with the band, hence really gross) and ensemble practices.
But I had fun during sectionals of course, with Janan joining us and all that camwhoring. :b

2nd day's highlight was the steamboat! C:
Really awesome I should say, and the guitar people were definitely jealous of us. :P
We paid $20 for the food, they paid $25! and we get to have steamboat! :D theirs include lunch though. but who cares, ours was just good! had a good time laughing. hahaha.

& we had night games after that!
percy the pig, jewel, wenquan, ishvinder(sp) and jingyi were in my group, and we sucked so much at the first game: pulse, that we ended up being the last for everything. -.-
because we don't get to overtake! :(
I'm super proud of my photographic memory because I memorized most of others' personal info(PSLE score, no. of siblings, what they do if they had a million, sec sch etc) just at a glance! So we rocked ruiheng's game like nobody's business and stayed strong(physically) together. hahaha.
overall everything was okay, only until the last game where I fell on my butt TWICE while running on the wet ground barefooted. :C
and our waterbombs and shouting alerted the police some more. lolll.

ensemble competition on 3rd day was quite anyhow.
and I was so drained and my lips decided to be swollen after I woke up.
and fluuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu.
Janan prevented me from koping shaker fries from the exco during lunch. :(
anyway, I was so shagged so I wasn't in a good mood. lol.
but after breaking camp, I FELT SO HIGH. :D


Sleepover @ Cheryl's

immediately, cheryl and I left school and lugged our heavy camping bags onto the bus and headed to Holland V for dinner.
THAI EXPRESS FOR THE 2ND TIME IN THAT WEEK.
(Did I mention ahhui & I paid $2.80 altogether for 2 plates of phat thai the previous time we head out? Ridiculously cheap cos of my cash rebate and voucher. hahaha!)
Still as good as ever, had phat thai and craved for the red bean ice-cream dessert so I ordered it. woohoo, it was such a good good meal. :D
then, I went to Cold Storage in search of drinks and chips for our KL trip while Cheryl went to her baking shop.
In the end, I bought nothing after my mum told me daddy bought tidbits for us and cheryl said the shop was closed.
So we cabbed back to my house, I put down my stuffs, transferred stuffs while my parents tried to entertain Cheryl. Super funny when she spoke chinese, I kept laughing. HAHAHA. :P
Daddy even gave us kiwi to eat. lol.

So yuppiedeedoo, daddy bought biscuits from four leaves and packed cherries for us to eat on the coach!
Off we went, lugged my luggage up the bus to go Bukit Batok. Waited for Cheryl's grandfather to come and pick us up. C:
Reached Cheryl's place and got super excited!
AND GUESS WHAT. I realised I left my luggage keys(cos I locked it with an external lock) AT HOME. -________________-
Stupid me, had to trouble Cheryl's grandmother to drive us all the way back to my house again to take it. lol. :x
but it was good 'cos I took memeks' jacket & my pink doggy along this time. :>

then we quickly packed our stuffs and washed up, slept at around 2am.
Cheryl was really nice to give up her bed for me to sleep on while she slept on her sofa bed! C:
woke up at 6.45am and quickly got ready to leave singapore!

KL trip 10th-14th dec

Took grassland's coach and we were really excited on the bus!
Watched the comedy Fann Wong & Mark Lee acted in, slept, bought food with riggit, crossing the immigration and all. Felt so independent. :p

So to cut short,
we spent everyday shopppppping non-stop, full blast of retail therapy!
Cooked our own dinner everyday, thanks to chef Cheryl who brought along salt, pepper and stuffs, with the electric stove! Pastas and sandwiches, really nice! I like! hahaha.
Had awesome breakfast from the hotel in the mornings, aw man, it makes me salivate. :p
and of course all the lame stuffs we tried to do like wearing robes around the house and down to the swimming pool and gym!
we actually wore formal clothes with bathroom slippers and worked out. LOL. and we got chased out after that not because of our attire but our age, wth! but it was 'cos of the kids inside who alarmed the auntie lah. tsk.

it was really a short trip, hoping it to be longer cos it really helped me to take my mind off stuffs. it was a fabulous getaway from reality, hehehe! :x oops.
so ya, and I thank Cheryl's parents for this sponsorshipppp, and lending me $$$$$ 'cos I didn't bring enough. yay. (:


1SB4 Christmas BBQ @ Ian's on 14th

So after coming back from KL, took a quick rest at home and rushed down to Ian's at Maple Woods!
Quite a failed bbq cos most of them turned black. LOL.
but food was still good, and I like Isaac's mum's pasta! :b
Played bridge until eugene couldn't stand me, and after he left the game, I OWNED IT ALL. :P
then played taboo(?) all the way till late night! super funny. hahaha.

got a pair of purple earstuds from phoebe from new zealand! pretty pretty! <3
and a towel strawberry cake and a bracelet from zhiyun as xmas present, thank you! :D
took a lift back on jonyap's bro's car. okay not really, it was just his bro driving. lol.
forgot to take photos that day! joey was like CHARCOAL with a GOLDEN HEAD. so burnt from trainings and she dyed her hair lah! lol.
missssed all of them so much, love my classsss! :D

15th dec
went back to school in the morning to have individuals/sectionals with springs & cheryl. -_- failed terribly. lol!
then brought home all the instrument and stuffs for band fest.
met atika & saiful @ science centre macs after that and headed to Book Fest @ Suntec Convention Centre to see venus and bought wrapping papers. lol.
it was an aimless meeting, they just missed me too much. :P HAHAHA.
and I'm still thinking about the dresses in New Look! :s

16th-20th dec
Band fest, updated about that alr! (:

18th dec
Sent marshy off to India with charlotte while the rest of the JC memeks had dinner @ NTU.
Really missed that marshyyyyyyyyyyy boy so much after so long! He's still as black as ever. :p
met his whole family and all, and had McDonald's for dinner.
It was the same place where karthik was having his last meal in Singapore. LOL.
so do indians all eat there before they depart? lolll. :x
yuppiedeedoo, did lots of catching up and marshall is learning french as his 2nd language! super cooool! gonna miss him so much next year lah! :(


22nd dec(I think, oh shit, I can't remember!)
went CSS for band prac, was totally random cos none of the memeks could go gym with me.
So ended up with dolly and shannon there. lol.
then left early and headed to town for hunting of xmas present!
caught up with nair a lil before that too.
hmmm, I guess that's all.


I think I stoned at home on 23rd. Did I? :o

24th dec, xmas eve!

Met up with ahhui who kindly caught Sherlock Holmes with me! :D :D :D
It was a good movie, very smart, quite thrilling and funny! 3.5 popcorns out of 5! lol.
then hunted for xmas present with her, bought the speakers after deciding for a long long time, seriously!
I gave ahhui the small xmas hat clip as xmas gift, she didn't like it at first lor! (but her sis liked it a lot. LOL)
and I made her wear it with me in KFC while having late lunch. LOL. :p

it was good catching up with her, always! hahaha, I seriously want to bring her out for a EXTREME X99999999 MAKEOVER!
so anyway, when we were about to leave, we took the train to Joo Koon so that I would guarantee myself a seat on MRT on a xmas eve all the way to Bugis to meet my folks! so thanks ah, chan mali chan! :b

and my mum is seriously one lousy singer, 五音不全！HAHAHA.
but super cute, I BUAY PAISEH IN FRONT OF THEM COS THEY LOUSIER THAN ME. :P
So ya, the bento dinner was horrible. tsk!
got a goodie bag from them and I left them all at nair's. lollll.

afterwhich, trained to somerset, wanting to countdown to xmas there!
town was crowded, like nuts.
and I had to say it was b o r i n g z z z z z z.
walked to and fro, see people spray each other with those white foam, then ate shaker fries. lol!
finally passed midnight and took a cab back.
the taxi driver gave my dad lots of travelling tips, hahaha.

25th dec, CHRISTMAS!
saiful woke me up! :(
then met atika and saiful at old sch mac, headed to queensway in the heavy rain, bought myself a turqoise fbt(I wanted it the last time I went there with phoebe & charlotte!) while saiful sent his pants for altering.
ate ikea hotdog and bought a juice(?) in wine bottle as gift for nair's parents.
(ALL YOU PEOPLE, PAY $$$$!)
then slacked at anchor point's subway ........................ until we finally decide to cab to nair's.
IN THE END SHE'S NOT EVEN THERE AND HENCE, we waited under the void deck. -.-
then ahchoo and venus came and continued waiting..
until nair came and all of them were in black. -_______-
I was the only white/golden one lah! must be white xmas ma! lol.

so anyway, dinner was uber delicious, thanks to nair's stepmum! :D
then our gift exchange was super fun, all explainable in photos on fb. lol.
(thanks to fb, now my blog has no photos, AT ALL.)
cos I'm so lazy. :x
so ya, stayed over at nair's, watched movies, played random songs from youtube, got high and low, and finally slept on the bed with venus while atika & nair continued their whispering session on the mattress. lol.
slept all the way till 11am plus, packed up and washed up, we then all accompanied nair to taka to get stuffs from vincent and I had my takoyakiiiii! <3
and the creampuff too, stole a bite from venus's. :p yayyyy.

tried to find an affordable pendant for vanisha but to no avail and the shopping centres were insanely crowded, headed back to JP.
she finally got one from Perlini's(my bestfriend, long story :b) and went off while venus & me stayed on to accompany atika to WATCH hady mirza's autograph session.
Super tiring to stand there ya know! but I didn't complain. See, I so nice. :P
sooooooooooo after that, went to starbucks to chilllll and finally went home.
that was boxing day for you! lol.


4/5 Christmas BBQ @ Terrence's. (up till this point, I feel like dying from typing so much. lol)

ahhui's mum came to pick me up under my block at around 4.40pm. (btw I liked her car's colour! it's turqoise, but more blue-ish.)
and we reached Signature Park @ 5pm sharp!
super duper early I tell you, no girls were there.
Didn't know where the guys were cos they went early, didn't bother contacting them to avoid the awkwardness, so ahhui and I toured the condo and later, the neighbourhood. lol.

I WANT TO PLAY TENNIS LAH. :(

anyway the BBQ was good!
I like the bbq-ed nuggets, hashbrowns and small saussages. hahaha, thanks to chef eugene & partner(I forgot who).
Played pool too with the guys. hahhaa
oh ya, my dear friend whom I've known for 14 years - wee pohpoh - is now a Christian!
I got the shock of my life but oh well, I support your decision okay! C:
Please don't be so vexed about it alright, hope you can get a peace out of your mind really really soon, update me again okay! take careeee. <3
Played asshole poker after that with the guys again, I was the King for 4 consecutive rounds until some bad luck came and I became the 'prostitute' and then 'asshole' for the rest of the rounds lah. :(
but it was still fun. hahaha.
then hilda cheng & theresa went off, pohpoh & me followed the guys up and we played mahjong with zh and ljq!
after a few rounds, we then left with gregory, wilson & cheepeng.
it feels good to chat with old friends, and I finally talked to greg after we alighted. 'cos we used to walk one back one front when we were sec 4. lol.

I admire his patience, and of course he's really a funny guy. All his jokes made everyone laughed and ease the tensed up brains from counting too much. lol.

After 4 days of intensive yet slack-y band practices at NIE's band room, we finally headed to Esplanade to perform.
& I must say I learnt lots of patience, oh well. And I actually start to miss AC band. :o
Nevertheless, it was a fun experience. (:
With the Polish band and all the various musicians from different JCs & Polys, it was really something different and I guess it's gonna be the one and only chance in my life.
So anyway, concert was not so bad, and I guess all of us still enjoyed ourselves. hee.


Oh, and the Polish band's uniform is really really cool, guys and girls alike, military style! I like!
& I like NYP's bow ties! Everybody's wearing their school tie except them lah, I like too! hahaha.


& I texted memeks during the intermission 'cos none of them came so I felt so emo suddenly. lol. that's after seeing the rest all going to their friends and getting flowers and all. oh well.
& all of their replies are so anyhow! >:E alright, forgiven! hahaha. Better come next year!
looking on the bright side, my parents came. hahahaha.


Anyway, the Polish band's own performance was good at the end! Everyone got so high, and I was shouting and screaming away from Circle 3(the highest circle lah!), and Jie Kang was asking me, "Are you trying to test different frequencies from all your shoutings?" HAHAHA!
Love their Pink Panther, started off with a tuba solo! & there's a tenor sax solo too, but it's not the melody though. Saxyyyy~


Ended the night with lots of photos taken @ the concourse with the crazy AC + ACSI people. hahaha. then headed to Ichiban Boshi to have dinner with my parents. Yummmmmy. C:
Bumped into Prof Ho on the escalator, he kept looking at me so I just waved at him. Then he waved back. lol!

Then walked along the Singapore River which is polluted with those big white balls again with my parents. It looks more like lots of rubbish on the water, so ugly! tsk.
Interlocked arms with my parents, one on each side, while walking! Family walk! hahahaha. <3
Literally walked one big round, then went to the bus stop behind esplanade to wait for Express502! There's night buses available on the 24th & 31st Dec from 1am to 4am leh, and it goes to JE/JW! Memeks or anyone, any of you wants a night out? :D
The place is full of memories lahhh, hmm.


Hugged mummy to sleep while standing, I think I looked pretty like a small kid. hahaha! oh well, mummy told me to do that cos I was so so so exhausted!
While daddy guarded my saxophone. hahaha!
Mummy said, "你要相信我！" (You must trust me!) cos I wasn't holding on to any hand grip so I was afraid I might fall. Believe it or not, I REALLY SLEPT WHILE STANDING. HAHAHA.
It was a 50min ride back home lah, crazy!

Watched NIE band concert the day before @ Nanyang Auditorium. It was seriously bigggg, nothing like that auditorium in CSS. lol!
Some NJ band members were playing too so I just went 'cos I felt like it. It's beeeeen so long since I last watched a band concert. lol.
So they played English Folk Song Suite & A Christmas Festival(Encore piece) and it was so so so nostalgic. I was missing those days badly. :(
And I guess my memek did a better job for the cornet/trumpet solos. Jessica said that also, hahaha!

I screamed Shannon's name damn loudly and he even texted me to 'compliment' me. HAHAHA. oh well, I think I'm well known for being LOUD. hahaha! Oops.
& THEY ARE FREAKING GOING TO TAIWAN FOR ANOTHER OPUS CONCERT. Walao!
Counting down to 2010 there some more, so coooool.

I want to countdown somewhere else too, like going somewhere with a different timezone!

Band festival has started!
Had our first prac @ NIE today and it was ...
oh well, there's Arnold, Jacob and Honour Band.
I'm in Arnold, which is pretty arsesome.

long days ahead, concert @ esplanade on sunday, 20 Dec!
1700 to 1930hours, tickets @ $10 and $12, cheap cheap!

Born on 6 November '92 in Shanghai, virgin trip on the airplane at the age of 3 when she moved to Singapore. First language was Shanghainese. Only child thanks to the one child policy back then. Sang in the Choir in Primary School, played the alto saxophone in the military band in Secondary School, then the tenor saxophone in the concert band in Junior College. Currently majoring in Linguistics & Multilingual Studies in NTU. Part time Beauty Advisor for Lancôme Paris. Tutor for Primary & Secondary School students.
Learnt some basic design sketching(fashion), yoga and modern jazz - and loved them. Loves travelling, beauty stuff, food, photography and languages. Learning 日本語, Française & la lingua italiana. Wants to learn German and play the cello.
